Fire Extinguisher Types

There are different types of fire extinguishers for different spaces,
make sure you have the right one for your work, commerical or personal space! 

Class A Fires

Wood, paper, cloth, trash, plastics (solids that are not metals).

Class B Fires

Flammable Liquids: gasoline, oil, grease, acetone (includes flammable gases).

Class C Fires

Electrical fires, anything that is plugged in.

ABC Dry Chemical

This fire extinguisher is

multi-purpose that is effective

in fighting class A, B, or C fires.

Clean Agents

No residue after use, with minimal clean up. Recommended for protection of sensitive and expensive computers, electrical equipment, tapes, film, automotive and aircraft engines, laboratory chemicals and equipment. Can be used in bedrooms, home offices, home kitchens, car, and garages. 

Used for fighting class B and

class C fires.

Class D - Metal Fires

Used for fighting fires involving combustible metals or combustible metal alloys. Commonly found in a chemical laboratory, or used in the aircraft industry, auto body shops, factories that work with metals.

Class K - Grease Fires

Used for fighting both class A and class K fires in cooking appliances.

Class A: Wood, Paper, cloth, trash, plastics (solids that are not metals).

Class K: Commercial Deep Fat Fryers (cooking oil fires). 

Purple K

Rated for class B and

class C fires.

Class B: Flammable Liquids, gasoline, oil, grease, acetone

Class C: Electrical fires, anything that is plugged in.
